Using Multiple Cues for Hand Tracking and Model Refinement

چکیده
We present a model based approach to the integration of multiple cues for tracking high degree of freedom articulated motions and model refinement. We then apply it to the problem of hand tracking using a single camera sequence. Hand tracking is particularly challenging because of occlusions, shading variations, and the high dimensionality of the motion. The novelty of our approach is in the combination of multiple sources of information which come from edges, optical flow and shading information in order to refine the model during tracking. We first use a previously formulated generalized version of the gradient-based optical flow constraint, that includes shading flow i.e., the variation of the shading of the object as it rotates with respect to the light source. Using this model we track its complex articulated motion in the presence of shading changes. We use a forward recursive dynamic model to track the motion in response to data derived 3D forces applied to the model. However, due to inaccurate initial shape the generalized optical flow constraint is violated. In this paper we use the error in the generalized optical flow equation to compute generalized forces that correct the model shape at each step. The effectiveness of our approach is demonstrated with experiments on a number of different hand motions with shading changes, rotations and occlusions of significant parts of

Multiple Target Tracking With a 2-D Radar Using the JPDAF Algorithm and Combined Motion Model
Multiple target tracking (MTT) is taken into account as one of the most important topics in tracking targets with radars. In this paper, the MTT problem is used for estimating the position of multiple targets when a 2-D radar is employed to gather measurements. To do so, the Joint Probabilistic Data Association Filter (JPDAF) approach is applied to tracking the position of multiple targets. To ...

متن کاملFusion of Multimodal Visual Cues for Model-Based Object Tracking
While many robotic applications rely on visual tracking, conventional single-cue algorithms typically fail outside limited tracking conditions. Fusion of multimodal visual cues with complementary failure modes allows tracking to continue despite losing individual cues. While previous applications have addressed multi-cue 2D featurebased tracking, this paper develops a fusion scheme for 3D model...

Object tracking through multiple cameras is a popular research topic in security and surveillance systems especially when human objects are the target. However, occlusion is one of the challenging problems for the tracking process. This paper proposes a multiple-camera-based cooperative tracking method to overcome the occlusion problem. The paper presents a new model for combining convolutiona...

This paper presents a delay compensator fuzzy control for trajectory tracking of omni-directional mobile robots. Fuzzy logic control (FLC) of the robots is a suitable strategy for dealing with model uncertainties, nonlinearities and disturbances. On the other hand, in many robotic applications such as mobile robots, delay phenomenon is able to substantially deteriorate the behavior of system's...
